Thanks for the informative article ! I have a few questions.
1. Why would people apply for PR and citizenship at the same time ? Is it only as ‘insurance’ so that the PR come in quickly and then you cannot be asked to leave the country while the citizenship process is on ?
2. does the IND or gementee have no objections to we applying for PR and for citizenship simultaneously ?
3. The dutch exam level is changing from A2 level to B1 level from 1st Jan 2022. If I apply for citizenship in 2022 will I be asked to take the inburgering exams again and at B1 level ? Or will the current diploma at A2 level be respected ? Who can advise on this issue ?
4. The IND website says PR needs to be renewed every 5 years ? Is that true ? secondly, what if I do not have a job at the time of PR renewal after 5 years ? will I still be able to renew my PR ?
5. With PR, is it necessary to work in NL ? For example, can I work in say africa but ensure that I am in Netherlands for more than 6 months every year ? Will my PR then continue to be valid ? Of course I will pay taxes here.
5. the IND website says this “When you apply for a permanent residence permit in the Netherlands, the IND automatically checks if you can also get the residence permit as long-term resident EC.”. So I will also get the residence permit as long-term resident EC ?

– takes 2 to 3 weeks. refer VFS website for other details.

My question is regarding the Renunciation of the Indian Passport, do you have to apply at the consulate of the Indian Embassy before you apply for the Naturalisation application or after my application is approved?

how long does it take to receive a confirmation of renunciation from the embassy and does the document needs to be legalized first?

the second question is when the application is in progress, a change of address within the NL could affect the application or not?

I would be grateful if you could advise on these.

Honestly, I have no answers to these questions. As far as I know, PAN and India DL are irrespective of citizenship. Aadhaar is only for Indian citizens.

Was curious in case you have information on the below points, please share if any:

1. Is the existing PAN CARD still relevant and can be continued post renunciation of India passport? Or would it automatically become invalid and one needs to apply for a new NRI PAN CARD with Dutch passport information in it?
2. Would the Aadhaar Card become automatically invalid or is there any surrender process that is applicable in this scenario?
3. Will the India driving license also become automatically invalid post passport surrender?

I think max allowed is 6months. However I heard there is consideration for COVID delays. Best is to ask IND.

From what I know there are no disadvantages from Netherlands perspective. However I heard in India as a foreign citizen, education for children could be lot more expensive and also they don’t get equal opportunity in sports etc.

Yes you can apply for both. If you decide to apply for only citizenship, make sure you renew your RP before it expires.
